I don’t understand how it’s been decided I’m needed for a full five hours of tech/sound check for this show case, when the organisers know I have other rehearsals, which they said originally I could go to and arrive late for tech. Ugh.

I can always be better.

I should always be better.

Today went pretty good, but I’m tired as hell.

Despite Courtney being so tired/ill she fell asleep for a minute in rehearsals, and me partly losing my voice and feeling like I was going to throw up, our street performance was ok! We were expecting mics, but that didn’t quite work out… but everyone worked through it. Maddie and Craig were stunning as always, Courtney is a powerhouse even when she’s sick, and I got through everything, including covering Samantha’s part, and effectively being the dance captain for Honk! because nobody else seemed to know the choreography.
Aaaand then we had our first RENT rehearsal. Most of us didn’t know each other, but everyone seems nice and supportive, and excited to do the show, which is the main thing. Seasons of Love already sounds kick ass. I think it’s going to be a good show. If the standard of the whole cast is as strong as the rest of the ensemble, who I mostly heard because I’m a part of the ensemble, then it’s going to be an incredibly strong show. This is pretty long. I think it’s because I’m really tired/still sick and I can’t be bothered editing out any bits.
Ohh, also Contact is going to be somewhere between weird and super awkward. Because four of us are 15/16 and the rest of the cast is quite a bit older. Hopefully we’ll all get to know each other better before then.
ALSO ALSO, the guy playing Angel bought and took along his own heels. I like him already.

There is a special place in hell for people who put packets of chocolate fingers back in the cupboard with one left.

That means you, dad.
